(10-18-20) Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports his office is actively investigating a domestic violence incident that resulted in a shooting, in the 19000 block of Chain Lake St, Calvin Twp, Cass County, Michigan. This incident occurred on 10-18-2020 at around 9:36 pm.

Deputies were called to the scene for a subject having been shot. Deputies arrived and found that a 34 yr old female had been shot in the altercation. Deputies secured the scene and Pride Care ambulance provided care for the female. The female was flown to Memorial Hospital, South Bend for treatment. The Suspect in the shooting fled the scene prior to Deputies arrival. Deputies were notified that the suspect had been located after crashing his vehicle in Goshen, Indiana. The suspect was detained by the Goshen Police Department for this investigation as well as criminal charges stemming from Goshen Police Departments investigation.
