On Monday, February 26th, 2018 members of the Southwest Enforcement Team, with the assistance of Michigan State Police, and Berrien County Sheriff Department conducted a search warrant in the city of Coloma.

Trentyn Kowitz (25) was arrested following a 2-month investigation into the distribution of crystal methamphetamine.  SWET Detectives were able to start an investigation showing that Trentyn Kowitz was selling crystal methamphetamine in the Southwest Michigan area.  During the execution of the search warrant detectives located approximately ¼ pound of crystal methamphetamine and other related items to drug trafficking.  Trentyn Kowitz and Taylor Clouse (27) were arrested and lodged Berrien County jail on numerous drug charges

On February 28th. , 2018 members of Southwest Enforcement Team, Berrien County TRU Team, Berrien County Road Patrol and Michigan State Police executed two search warrants in the Benton Harbor area.  The first location was 1388 Hurd Ave, officers located crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana from this location.  Suspect Henry Magee (46) was charged with Delivery of crack cocaine 4 counts, Poss with intent to deliver crack cocaine 2nd , Poss with intent to deliver heroin 2nd , poss of ammo by a felon and other drug related charges.  The second warrant conducted on February 28th was executed at 807 E. High St.  Detectives located several bags of crack cocaine that was packaged for delivery, marijuana, and a firearm.  Several people at the house went to Berrien County Jail on numerous drug charges and various outstanding warrants.

On March 1st, 2018 members of the Southwest Enforcement Team, Michigan State Police, and Berrien County Road Patrol executed a search warrant at 1946 Territorial Road Apt#5.  Officers located approximately 67 grams of cocaine, a stolen handgun, and other drug trafficking items.  Officer arrested two people as a result of this investigation and search warrant execution.  Names will not be released at this time.

The Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) is comprised of sworn law enforcement personnel from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Barry County Sheriff’s Office, Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, Kalamazoo Township Police Department, South Haven Police Department, Covert Police Department, and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.
