Dear editor:
Voters in the Celina City School District will be asked to renew a five – year emergency operating levy on the Nov. 3 ballot . It will not raise taxes.
First approved in 2000 , the 11.1 – mill operating levy generates approximately $4.9 million annually, which is roughly 15% of the district’s revenue. Th e se funds are vital to support ing daily operations, such as transportation, utilities, maintenance and upkeep, safety, technolog y and personnel .
Before deciding whether to support the renewal operating levy, consider your children and community’s future s . Strong public schools make communities stronger .
