(6-25-26) Greenville native Jeff Nisonger recorded his 4,000th career driving win Wednesday (June 24) on the final day of the Putnam County Fair meet in Ottawa, Ohio.

Nisonger entered the evening’s 15-race card needing two wins to reach the milestone. He got the first one in race six with Zumma World. The 3-year-old Summa Cum Laude gelding won by eight and three-quarters lengths in 1:57.4. Win No. 4,000 came four races later with Ourcoltofmanycolor. The 3-year-old Fool Me Once gelding won by half a length in 1:59.2. Nisonger trains both Zumma World and Ourcoltofmanycolor.

Nisonger began driving in 1997 winning 2 of 16 races. The initial win came in his sixth drive at Greenville on August 18 with Bobs Other Barb for Tommy Householder in 2:12.2. In 2008 he recorded his most wins in a year of 305. In 2018 his earnings totaled $858,736. His career stats show 25,087 starts, 4,000 wins, 3,726 seconds, 3,462 thirds, a lifetime UDRS of .288 with earnings of $15,254,990.
