(June 12, 2020) – With America in the middle of a COVID 19 pandemic and daily protests in the George Floyd case…some have decided eliminating Paw Patrol’s Police dog Chase and taking away the guns of Elmer Fund and Yosemite Sam will help us save the world.

Demonstrators against police brutality are  calling for the children’s cartoon series ‘Paw Patrol’ to be canceled due to its positive depictions of law enforcement, mainly the character named Chase.

PAW Patrol is about a squad of dog rescuers, who believe

“no job is too big, no pup is too small”

and work together to protect the community. One of the main characters is Chase described on the Paw Patrol web page

Using his police truck and megaphone, this German Shepherd is an athletic natural leader who likes to take charge. ‘

To this point the cartoon show is still available…the Paw Patrol twitter account tweeted the following below recently during the effort to yank the show.

Warner Brothers has taken away the guns of Yosemite Sam and Elmer Fudd. But….dynamite explosions, anvils dropping on characters’ heads and complex booby traps are still fair game.

 

Peter Browngardt, the executive producer and show runner of the series, told the New York Times in a recent interview.

“We’re not doing guns. But we can do cartoony violence — TNT, the Acme stuff. All that was kind of grandfathered in.”

Two reality tv shows have also been cancelled during all of these protests… ‘Live PD’ and ‘Cops’. Meanwhile Hollywood continues to have more movies with violence, no outcry from anyone in stopping them .
