(5-18-19) The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traffic crash this morning at US 12 and 31 bypass. The vehicles that were involved were a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 driven by a 22 year old male from Buchanan MI. Also involved in the crash was a Tractor Trailer Semi that was driven by a 27 year old male from Dowagiac MI.

The Chevy truck was exiting the bypass south bound using the off ramp and driving on the edge of the gore. This vehicle struck two traffic sign’s and failed to stop at the intersection striking the rear of the tractor trailer. The Chevy truck had heavy front end damage along with the rear axles of the semi-trailer being damaged. The pickup truck driver was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to Memorial Hospital of South Bend. That driver is in stable condition. The driver of the semi-truck was treated at the scene.

This crash is still under investigation.
