UPDATE –
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 28 year old, Ashley Rae Grubb of Berrien Springs. The crash is still under investigation and no other information will be released at this time.
(5-14-19) On May 14th 2019 at 04:38 a.m., Officers of the St Joseph Public Safety Department were called to an injury accident at Port St and Wayne St. Upon arrival Officers located a single vehicle that struck a tree off the roadway.
The occupant, a 28 year old female from Berrien Springs, was seriously injured and had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was transported to Spectrum Health Lakeland where she was later pronounced deceased.
The accident is being reconstructed by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department. The name of the victim is being withheld until the family is notified.
