(7-12-18) The Northern Lakes Conference made a major announcement on Wednesday by adding Mishawaka High School as the 8th team to the league beginning in the 2020-21 school year. The opening for a new member happened when Elkhart decided to merge Central and Memorial back into one high school.
The Cavemen, who were chartered members of the Northern Indiana Conference (NIC) since 1927.

Bremen, Elkhart, Glenn, Jimtown, Mishawaka Marian, New Prairie, Penn, South Bend Adams, South Bend Clay, South Bend Riley, South Bend St. Joseph, South Bend Washington

“This is a big move for our school. We put a lot of time, effort and research into changing conferences. We consulted with Mishawaka legends who have been leaders for decades. We also met with all 19 of our varsity coaches before making an application to the NLC. We appreciate the strong relationships we have with schools from the NIC, and we look forward to developing those same bonds in the Northern Lakes. 2020 will be an exciting time for all Cavemen”.

We’ll continue that tradition the next two years before moving to the Northern Lakes Conference in 2020.
