(2-8-23) Moretti (Medaglia d’Oro–Rigoletta, by Concerto), a two-time stakes winner and who twice placed at the Grade II level, will begin covering mares at Chesapeake Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, the 7 year old stallion will stand for $5,000.

Part of his introduction includes…breeders who come to inspect Moretti will receive a free written report that analyzes their chosen mare with Moretti and three other stallions of the breeder’s choice, as well as an assessment of family racing propensities, pedigree blends and physical matches.

Moretti is standing as the property of Erik and Pavla Nygaard’s Thor-Bred Stables

While I have not run the statistics to be sure, I keep getting told by stallion farms that we do more in-depth homework than most and that we improve our stock more than most when we breed our mares to commercial stallions.

So I figured we could offer to help some breeders with how we do things. If it helps them to land on Moretti, awesome, good for us and for the breeder. If it helps them to improve their own process and they breed a good horse by another stallion because Moretti isn’t a great likely match, it’s good for the breeder and the industry. I will appreciate that they gave us a look either way. We like to play the long game of producing good horses over time.

PEDIGREE

The sire of MorettiMedaglia d’Oro once again heads Darley’s Jonabell Farm roster for 2023 with his fee remaining at $100,000.

Moretti offers breeders a strong bloodline, the list below shows he is the only new addition by Medaglia d’Oro. His fee is quite reasonable at $5,000, French bred Stallion Sacred Life, standing at Buck Pond Farm is the only sire listed below him with a lower fee at $2,000.

Thor-Bred Stables believes strongly in the future of Moretti doing everything possible to make sure he is a very viable choice in what is a very competitive field of thoroughbred stallions available. Horse racing can be a gamble, so can picking a sire for your future foals…the odds in this situation look to be very favorable.
