UPDATE

On July 4, 2022 the deceased body of Michael Grant was located in the Morrison Channel near slip 21 by the Berrien County Sheriff Department Marine Division and Great Lakes Drone Company.

An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow at Western Michigan University Stryker School of Medicine.

Original release – On Saturday July 2, 2022 at 11:30 p.m. Michael Grant (68) Niles man was visiting family and friends at Pier 33 near slip 41 when he left to use the restroom and never returned.

The family and St. Joseph Department of Public Safety Officers have searched the area and his residence and were unable to locate him.  

The Berrien County Dive Team is currently searching the Morrison Channel and St. Joseph River for Mr. Grant.  

Mr. Grant has been entered into the Law Enforcement Information Network as missing.
