(5-26-21) The Berrien Springs Oronoko Twp. Police Department was dispatched on May 25th at 5:08pm to E. Lemon Creek Rd. and Lauer Rd. for a personal injury crash with one subject being unresponsive. 

Upon arrival, officers found that an east bound motorcycle, operated by Robert Allen Lucas (41) of Berrien Springs, had collided with a semi at the intersection.  The semi, operated by Timothy Allen Gallo (44) of Demotte, IN., was west bound and turning south onto Lauer Rd.

Lucas, operator of the motorcycle, was pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. Lucas’ next of kin have been notified. Timothy Gallo, operator of the semi, was not injured. 

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Team is reconstructing the crash.
