(12-10-20) Michigan State Rep. Cynthia A. Johnson was born and raised in Detroit and is serving her first term representing the 5th House District, which includes a portion of the city of Detroit.

Johnson has been stripped of her committee assignments, including her position on the House Oversight Committee after the above video had been posted.

“So, this is just a warning to you Trumpers. Be careful. Walk lightly. We ain’t playing with you. Enough of the shenanigans. Enough is enough”

“And for those of you who are soldiers, you know how to do it. Do it right. Be in order. Make them pay. I love y’all.”

News Release from Michigan GOP

LANSING, Mich., December 10, 2020 – While voices from across the aisle have come out and condemned Representative Cynthia A. Johnson for inciting violence against supporters of President Trump, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has remained silent.

Earlier this week, Representative Cynthia A. Johnson posted a video on Facebook, where she called on her “soldiers” to make supporters of President Trump “pay”. The bipartisan backlash has been telling, with Democrat Attorney General Dana Nessel calling Johnson’s comments “unacceptable”, saying she “strongly” condemns them. Governor Whitmer thus far, however, has not come out to join the growing number of voices denouncing Johnson.

Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox

“Gretchen Whitmer’s silence on this matter is a deafening reminder of her hyper-partisanship. Instead of standing by Representative Johnson’s comments, she should be joining the growing bipartisan voices decrying them, just as Republicans have denounced threats against Democrats. I am calling on Governor Whitmer to come out strongly against Representative Johnson’s comments which incite violence. As she well knows, there is no place in a civilized society for violence against your political opponents.”

Michigan state Rep. Cynthia Johnson received violent, racist voicemails after she challenged election fraud claims from President Donald Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani.
