(8-24-20) On August 24, 2020 at approximately 4:15 p.m., officers of the St. Joseph Township Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of Marion Avenue, in reference to a shooting incident that occurred in that area.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, identified as a 59 year old Benton Harbor resident. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of being shot, and was treated and released at Spectrum Lakeland Hospital.
The victim identified the alleged suspect as Shinnarah Lashay Bailey (25) female resident of Benton Harbor. Bailey is also a suspect in an additional shooting incident, which occurred in Benton Township, approximately 8 minutes prior to the shooting incident on Marion Avenue.
Shinnarah Bailey was described to be driving a newer Hyundai sedan with out of state registration. Bailey is to be considered armed and dangerous. In the event Bailey is seen, St. Joseph Township Police would advise the public not to approach the suspect, and to contact St. Joseph Township Police Department, Benton Township Police Department, or Berrien County Dispatch, to report her whereabouts.
The investigation is ongoing and no further details will be released at this time.
