(6-4-20) On Tuesday June 2, 2020 members of the Southwest Enforcement Team, Berrien County Sheriff Department Road Patrol, and Benton Harbor Public Safety conducted an arrest operation in Benton Township
William Henry Harden (46) was arrested following a four-month investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine in the Benton Township and Benton Harbor City areas. As a result of this operation S.W.E.T detectives seized approximately a quarter ounce of crack cocaine and over an ounce in crystal meth. During the operation on June 2, 2020, Harden was arrested in the Benton Township business district for selling crack cocaine. Harden attempted to flee the arrest but was apprehended after a foot chase pursued. Following the arrest of Harden, detectives searched Harden hotel room and located addition narcotics, and other evidence related to drug trafficking.
William Harden was lodged in Berrien County Jail on the following charge.
- Delivery of crack cocaine 2nd – 6 counts
- Possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine 2nd
- Possession with intent to deliver crystal meth 2nd
- Resisting and Obstructing Police
