On December 16th at 3:00 PM Berrien County 911 received a call reporting an individual involved in a traumatic accident in a wooded area at the 5800 block of Meadowbrook Rd, Bainbridge Township.

Responding Deputies learned that a 55 year-old male of South Haven, MI had been cutting down a large tree on the property. As the male was harnessed to the tree, a dropped limb inadvertently swung at the male, striking him.

The male was freed from his harness, having sustained what appeared to be two broken femur bones, as well as a broken arm. He was air-lifted to Bronson Hospital by Air-Care, with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Additional assistance at the scene was rendered by Pride Care Ambulance, Berrien County Medical Control Authority, and the Benton Township Fire Department.
