(5-28-26) It may not sound like a big deal to you…but there will be no thoroughbred racing in Montana this year. But the thought of that is not a good sign for the overall condition of the sport…which some say is struggling to be relevant.
Many who are reading this are fractional share owners of thoroughbreds with groups like MyRacehorse and Commonwealth. These folks are able to purchase affordable shares in top thoroughbreds like Authentic, Seize the Grey and Mage to name a few.Fractional share owners are quite active in the sport, helping to save Montana’s racing program could be another way to help.
Helping racing to continue in Montana by purchasing fractional shares would be a possible way to raise the funds…there are plenty who would like to do that.

There would hopefully be some of the major farms and breeders who would want to see racing continuing in Montana as well. Funding in the long run is the key to keeping Montana racing viable. Once the door is closed…reviving it can be a challenge.
