(2-6-26) Cloning …a controversial process in many forms of reproductive issues in sports that feature animals
Polo ponies, show ponies are the exception in equine sports.

These are two of Dr. Proctor’s clones. They are eerily similar to Dr. Proctor, and each other – as they are exact genetic copies. They were cloned from a plug of flesh from his
That is why cloning bucking bulls is a story of interest.
From Bucking Stock News—-
Cloning of super star bucking bulls is a practice that has actually been used over the years.
Cloning is an extensive process which is achieved by Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer.
Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer (SCNT) is a cloning technique that involves transferring the nucleus of a somatic cell into an enucleated egg cell. This process allows for the creation of an embryo that is genetically identical to the donor of the somatic cell.
Process Overview
- Nucleus Removal: The nucleus of an egg cell is removed, creating an enucleated egg.
- Nucleus Transfer: The nucleus from a somatic cell is inserted into the enucleated egg.
- Activation: The egg is stimulated to begin dividing and developing into an embryo.
Applications
- SCNT is primarily used in reproductive cloning, as seen in the famous case of Dolly the sheep.
- It also holds potential for therapeutic cloning, which could lead to advancements in regenerative medicine and organ transplantation
A “plug” is collected from the donor, typically skin or blood. Unfertilized eggs are obtained from a donor cow and their genetic material is removed, leaving a blank cell. The donor cell is placed into the enucleated egg. A gentle electrical pulse is applied to fuse the cell with the egg and trigger activation, causing the cell to begin dividing. At that point, the reconstructed egg is grown in a lab for around 7 days. The embryo is then transferred to a recipient cow, which will cary the calf, birth it, and raise it until weaning.
The resulting calf is an exact genetic copy of the donor. Although it has been done, the success rate is very low. Cloning is mainly used for replicating proven genetics.
The bucking bull world has seen a number of bulls and even cows that have been cloned.
