Updated—-Good news…

(5-31-25) Everybody loves a story that makes you feel good. This story is about two thoroughbred yearlings Onyx Stone and Awesome Hawaiian.
The two were acquired at a Louisiana Kill Pen, for both of them the good news was that the right horse people showed up and decided to give them a ‘fresh start‘. Purchasing thoroughbreds from a horse kill pen with the expectations of racing them at a high level is not something that happens on a regular basis. But that is exactly what is taking place. Today both are in training at Winstar.

Onyx Stone and Awesome Hawaiian
So who does something like that? John Stewart…the owner of Resolute Racing. Does he need to go out and purchase ‘bargain basement‘ race horses. NO WAY! He has an entire farm of some of America’s top horses, as well as top broodmares, foals, yearlings and two year olds in training.
What started out as a ‘good deed‘ has turned into an amazing story. A horse racing ‘Cinderella’ story.

Stewart recently showed his respect for the ‘everyday fan‘. His recent partnership with MyRacehorse is allowing those fans a remarkable opportunity to share in that experience allowing them an opportunity in a once in a lifetime yearling fractional share.
Resolute Racing’s John Stewart sold 25% of the yearling full-brother to Mage (Good Magic) and Dornoch, and half-brother to Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes starter Baeza (McKinzie) to MyRacehorse.
“I wanted to do this because most of the time–well all of the time–there’s no way the everyday fan would ever have a chance of owning a horse like this because he’s just such a special horse. And so I wanted to do something to partner with fans. And I think My Racehorse is a good solution.
I think the people that pay $98 for a share of Puca ’24 understand that that’s a microshare. And so they’re kind of sharing in that opportunity. And so just for me, it’s less about the money, more about the chance to engage with the fans.”
Besides the partnership with the yearling, Stewart also bred one of his top mares to 1st year stallion ‘Seize The Grey’ …who is owned by numerous MyRacehorse ‘fractional‘ owners.
Purchased by John Stewart for $6 million in 2023 Goodnight Olive was bred back to Gainesway’s Seize the Grey, the winner of last year’s GI Preakness Stakes and GI Pennsylvania Derby.
The horse racing world needs more John Stewarts!
