(8-6-21) On 08/06/2021 at approximately 2:08 pm deputies of the Berrien County Sheriff Niles Township Patrol and troopers of the Michigan State Police responded to a priority call at Walmart in Niles Township for reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival responding units attended to injuries and began investigating the incident.

Initial investigation indicates that a physical altercation occurred between two male subjects ultimately resulting in one subject being stabbed. The stabbing victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. The injury was not life threatening.

There is no ongoing threat to public safety at this time. This incident remains under investigation by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department. No further information will be released at this time.
