(6-20-21) Berrien County 911 dispatch received a call of a large barn fire on the property of 3707 Clawson Road, located north of Eau Claire and Dowagiac. The barn was not near the house and the caller reported that a family member could be inside the barn. It was reported that the barn was partially collapsed but had an area of the barn that was used as a home wood working shop.

As police and fire units arrived, the barn was fully engulfed. Area fire department assisted in extinguishing the fire. After the fire was extinguished a check of the fire scene located a male victim within the fire remains. A scene review could not determine the cause of death or how the fire started. This investigation will continue in an attempt in determining the cause of the fire and reason of death.
The victim of the fire was identified as Dustin Daily (43) a Berrien County resident.
An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted at a later date to determine the cause of death.
The investigation will continue to determine the possible cause of the fire and the findings will be forwarded to the Berrien County Prosecutors Office for review.
