(1-30-21) Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers discovered damage to the front entry doors of the business, indicating that entry had been made. Officers conducted further investigation and obtained surveillance video footage from the store, which identified two suspect vehicles and 9 suspects on camera causing damage and entering the store.

At approximately 5:57 a.m. on January 30, 2021, officers from the St. Joseph Township Police Department, assisted by St. Joseph Department of Public Safety and Michigan State Police, responded to the scene of Ace Hardware, located at 2360 Niles Rd. in St. Joseph Township in relation to an alarm activation.

At approximately 9:00 a.m., Berrien County Sheriff Deputies were able to locate one of the suspect vehicles at a gas station in the City of Benton Harbor, at which time two suspects were detained and arrested on numerous charges related to this incident and an additional unrelated incident. The names of the suspects are being withheld at this time due to the fact that they are juveniles.
