(10-7-20) Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke, reports that on 10/06/2020 at approximately 11:11 pm his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash near the intersection of Lake Shore Drive and Shady Shore Dr, in Howard Township.


Niles resident, Brian Grice (51) was traveling westbound on his motorcycle on Lake Shore Drive. Grice ran off the roadway and struck a pole on the side of the road and was transported, by ambulance, to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.


Grice was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
