(8-24-20) On 08/23/2020 at approximately 7:35 pm hthe Cass County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a one vehicle personal injury crash on Barron Lake Rd, south of Pokagon Highway, Pokagon Township, Cass County, Michigan.
Investigation shows that Aaron Marquardt (27)of Edwardsburg, was traveling northbound on Barron Lake Rd and went through the curve and lost control of the vehicle, colliding into a utility pole. After colliding into the pole the vehicle went airborne and rolled multiple times. Marquardt was airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained from the crash. It is unknown if seat belts were worn by Marquardt. This crash remains under investigation.
Marquardt has succumbed to his injuries and has passed away.
