(6-11-20) Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 06-10-2020 at 4:22 pm, the Office was called to investigate a single motor vehicle traffic crash near the intersection of Marcellus Hwy and Flanders Street located in Wayne Township, Cass County, Michigan. Dennis Bacon (63) Dowagiac resident was traveling eastbound on Marcellus Hwy and left the roadway striking an embankment causing him to crash into a field. Bacon was transported by private vehicle to Ascension Borgess-Lee Hospital for his injuries. It appears that a safety belt was utilized at the time of the crash.
It does not appear that Alcohol or Drugs are a factor in the crash. This case remains under investigation
