(8-12-19) On Thursday 8-8-2019 members of the Southwest Enforcement Team, and Berrien County Sheriff Department conducted an arrest operation at 105 South Fair (Quick Way Party Store) in the Township of Benton.

Shaquille Burton (27) was arrested following a one-month investigation into the distribution of crystal meth in the Bangor, Kalamazoo, and Benton Harbor areas.  As a result of this operation SWET detectives seized approximately five (5) ounces of crystal meth.  During this operation Burton and several other unnamed people were selling crystal meth in three different counties.  Other suspect names will not be released at this time.

On Thursday 8-9-2019 Swet-West detectives along with members of the Berrien County Tactical Response Unit, Berrien County Road Patrol, and Benton Township Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant in the Township of Benton.

James Snow (47) was arrested following a three-month investigation into the distribution of crystal meth at his home in Benton Township.  During the execution of the search warrant SWET Detectives located approximately two (2) ounces of crystal meth, eighteen (18) firearms and other drug related items. Also located at the house during the execution of the search warrant was Jessica Foster (28), Madison Word (22), Ashley Rawson (28) and Kyra Bailey (20).  All suspect were lodged Berrien County Jail on the following charges.

 

  1. James Snow – Possession with intent to deliver crystal meth, Possession of a firearm, Maintaining a Drug House, Bond Violation.
  2. Jessica Foster – Possession Meth 2nd, Probation Violation, Out of County Warrant
  3. Madison Word – Possession Meth 2nd
  4. Ashley Rawson – Possession Meth
  5. Kyra Bailey – Possession Meth 2nd, Maintaining a Drug House 2nd
