UPDATE

(5-7-25) Dowagiac Police report that they recently made an arrest in reference to the shooting incident that occurred on E. Wayne St. near Mcomber St. on 3/15/2025.

Upon investigation the initial incident, officers were able to determine a suspect. Upon locating the suspect, he was interviewed and admitted to firing the weapon out of the vehicle he was in. The suspect admitted to firing the weapon into the air while riding down the street.

Officers were able to locate and seize the weapon used in this incident and the investigation was forwarded to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office. A warrant was issued for the suspect for charges of Discharging a weapon from a vehicle (10 year felony), carrying a concealed weapon (5 year felony), and felony firearm (2 year felony). Once the warrant was issued the suspect was located in the Village of Cassopolis by an Officer with the Cassopolis Police Department and taken into custody. He was lodged at the Cass County Jail on the above listed charges. The suspect was arraigned in Cass County District Court and is currently being held at the jail on a $10,000 bond.
