(2-10-22) In a reply on Twitter to a statement lame-duck Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger said he was carrying a .38 caliber gun while he was in the Capitol on January 6th. Kinzinger is serving as a part of the January 6th committee looking to blame President Trump for his involvement in the incident.

His admitting to caring a gun brings up several questions…if Kinzinger was aware of impending violence that day at the Capitol…how did he find out and why as a member of congress why did he not take actions to stop it. That would include bringing National Guards into the situation to support the Capitol Police. How was Kinzinger able to get a gun into the Capitol?

Kinzinger, along with Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney, were both censured by the Republican Party for their actions on the committee. The two are the only Republicans on the committee. This happened after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would not allow other Republican representatives, approved by Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, to participate, including Ohio’s Jim Jordan.

Kinzinger in his quest to save America has started a movement to reshape and revive the Republican Party, while he continues to vote with Democrats on numerous issues.

In October after the Illinois House of Representatives approved the state’s new congressional district map that eliminates one seat, Kinzinger immediately announced he would not seek reelection in 2022.

Kinzinger stated –

“I cannot focus both on a reelection campaign to Congress and a broader fight nationwide… I want to make clear, this isn’t the end of my political career, but the beginning.”
